From June 2024 to December 22, 2024, Efstathia Kokkona volunteered with Ocean Znanja as part of a long-term individual project focused on health and well-being. During her volunteering, Efstathia explored and promoted healthy and sustainable habits, including balanced nutrition, daily self-care, and responsible use of resources.
Efstathia actively gathered information on health and well-being topics, primarily from young people, to understand their interests and what would be most useful to them. She did this through conversations, meetings, short surveys, and participation in our project activities. Based on these insights, we focused on delivering information to young people in an accessible, engaging, and practical way. The result was a digital guide, The Art of Living Well, which contains concrete tips on healthy eating, sustainable practices, and everyday well-being. The guide was presented at the Christmas Bake-Off event in December 2024 and remains available for anyone interested: Booklet
In addition to the research component, Efstathia actively contributed to the implementation of youth and community activities. She supported logistics, provided creative ideas for workshops and events, and encouraged participants to engage and take an active role. Her approach demonstrated how practical experience and direct communication with young people can foster interest in health, sustainability, and everyday well-being.
The project, The Last Minute for Well-being, which Efstathia led, may have come at a later stage in her life as a 30-year-old, but it showed that self-care, health, and well-being are never “too late.” Efstathia’s contribution expanded our perspective on well-being, health, and sustainability within the community, laying the foundation for further projects and initiatives.
